The Book Lord of the Flies by William Golding differs from the movie by Harry Hook in three different ways one of the ways the book differs from the movie is how in the beginning of the book, all of the kids were alone and through out the days they started meeting each other, but in the movie they were already all together and came from the same school. Another way it differs is by how in the book the kids were british and in the movie american. The third way is how in the book Jack is a little more positive than in the movie, he starts to tell the kids that they wont ever be rescued, in the book he doesn't do that.
In the beginning of the book Ralph and Piggy were the first ones to meet, then came Jack and the quire. They were all from different school so they didn't know each other and what they dared to do. for example, in the book when they met roger, they had no idea how aggressive he was, he was always so quiet and then he is killing pigs and people. The kids never imagine Roger killing Piggy and turning so savage.
In the movie, they already knew each other because they came from the same school, so they know what the other kid can do, and knows how he is more like.
In the book we are told that the kids are british, and in the movie they are american. It makes a difference because being british they would be more respectful, or arrogant and maybe would take things more personally, they wouldn't be as savage as an american who has no limits, and they kids would understand each another a bit more.
Another thing that makes the movie differ from the book is by how in the book, jack has more hope than he does in the movie, i think this also has to do with being british and american. In the movie, Jack is constantly saying they wont ever be rescued, there is no hope for them. Its important because when the kids hear that there is no hope then they have the idea in their minds that they are going to die and all that, so they start to do some things they wouldn't ever imagine their selves doing, just so they can survive a little bit longer.
These were three ways how the movie differed from the book, in good and bad, turns out that in the movie they had more reasons to be savage than they had in the book, they knew each other already , and the kids were American unlike in the book they were british.
