Flashback Caulfield
It was a sunny day in New York City, and I was sitting on a bench at central Park staring at the people who were passing by. Suddenly I see this boy wearing preppy clothes and a red hunting hat…(weird) he looked familiar, I realized it was Holden Caulfield, he seemed really despondent. He used to be my neighbor until my moms sell the house because of her new job that was going to be inaugurated in New York.
I felt like getting a cup of coffee and I didn’t want to go alone, so I walked up to him and said “hey Holden…do you remember me? We used to be neighbors…” at first I think he didn’t remember me because he was this grimaces with his face, but after he recognize me.
“Oh yeah I remember you, neighbors…neighbors…right” he said.
So I entreated him to go take a cup of coffee with me, he rebuffed meat first… but then I convinced him to go. I didn’t succumb.
When we got there I started asking him how was his life and his family. I bet he didn’t want to talk about it because he answer me in a very concise manner, he looked at me weird he was kind of getting irascible on me. I asked him if he still went to Elkton, his old school, he said not anymore… that he was at Pencey now.
Our conversation was getting interminable, but it wasn’t bad… it was quite affable, for me, because when we were leaving he made a face of abhor.
